| Time
for a New Attitude Reflect on the past year
and you'll experience as many emotions as the year had events. This is the right
time for an Attitude Adjustment - one that restores emotional and physical balance. Often,
we place everything and everyone else at a higher priority level than ourselves.
This is the largest obstacle to achieving balance. Resolve to place your needs
at the right priority level - you'll like what you see in the mirror; you'll love
how you feel about yourself. Our largest flaw
is the ability to make a resolution, then quickly forget about it. Make this year
different by writing your resolution down. Reading your resolution daily. Don't
let a bad day fool you into giving up. Have an "I can do it!" attitude.
Praise your achievements. Value your priorities. Continuously evaluate your goals. Taking
care of yourself is not something you need to earn. Simply by being yourself,
you already deserve it. Pay attention to your diet, your water intake, your exercise
routine, your skin and your self-care regimen. Let balance in your priorities
be your guide. From your head to your toes
it's time for a New Attitude! Winter
Weakness to Winter Wonders Weather conditions
can vary greatly in the winter - and depending on where you live or where you'll
be vacationing, you'll need the low-down on climate appropriate skin care.
In cold climates, dryness is our worst enemy. Dry, flaking skin, chapped,
cracked lips, windburn, rashes, and even blisters come with extreme cold and artificially
heated environments. Yet, cold climates also bring danger of sun exposure. If
you're skiing, watch out for sunburn and - in extreme cases - frostbite.
In mild or tropical winter climates, we still experience
dryness. Often, with slightly cooler weather, we become lax in sun protection.
Also, buildings tend to be over-heated, even in mild climates, and artificial
environments can be rough on your skin. Prevent
loss of moisture and replenish what moisture you know you will lose by following
your prescribed skin-care routine. Give your skin a boost with a recommended rich
moisturizing cream. Use a sun protectant with recommended SPF. And, in cold climates,
use a humidifier to increase moisture in the air. Maintain
a proper diet, drink lots of water, and increase the frequency of facials. Also,
remember to involve our skin care professionals if you are vacationing in a climate
you aren't used to. Turn winter weakness into winter wonders! |
Toner Time It's easy
to commit to cleanser and moisturizer. You know their merits, and can feel them
at work. When it comes to toner, however, many of us are commitment-shy. It's
simply fear of the unknown - most of us just don't know what toner does. Sure,
you hear about balanced pH, but is that really enough information? Depending
on the kind of toner recommended for your skin type, toner can do everything from
aid the moisturizing process, to increase blood-flow to the skin. Toner can stop
bacteria from colonizing and shrink your pores. Toner can even remove dead skin
cells, allowing your other products to work better. If
you want balanced, clear, refined, smooth, shine-free skin - re-think your commitment
to toner. Face the facts
it's Toner Time! Valentines
Sharing and Caring In our society when you ask someone "Who
are you?" The response almost always centers on our public role, our profession.
Our personal world lurks under the surface of these outer roles. This Valentine's
Day, concentrate not on the public personas of your friends and loved ones, celebrate
the personal, the inner world that makes each a unique and wonderful individual.
How we care for ourselves is at the root of who we are
so share the "care
for yourself" concept. Make a joint appointment to teach each other the role
of self-care and relaxation. Slip a gift certificate into his briefcase, or into
her makeup drawer. Share your personal world
with those you care about. Make it a new way to celebrate: Valentines Sharing
and Caring.
